The Niger State Judicial Service Commission (NSJSC), has dismissed four judicial officers after they repeatedly failed promotion examinations.

The commission stated that the officers, who had remained at the same rank despite three failed attempts, could not continue in service.

Speaking at a press briefing in Minna, Chairman, Sub-committee on Information of the NJSC, Adamu Usman, explained the decision.

“The commission resolved and advised them to leave the service in accordance with Order 8, Rule (4)(f) of the commission’s Regulation 2025,” Usman said.

According to him, the affected officers include three from the High Court and one from the Sharia Court of Appeal.

Usman further disclosed that a four-man committee has been set up to investigate allegations of serious misconduct against one Mohammed Shaba.

“The matter was reported by the Chief Registrar of the Sharia Court of Appeal.

“The commission deliberated on the report and, in line with Order 6(1)(c) of the Regulation 2025, set up a sub-committee to conduct further investigations.

“It is necessary to ensure the affected judicial staff is given fair hearing,” Usman added.
