Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the successful rescue of 46 pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, the governor described the rescue operation as a huge relief not only for Oyo State but for the entire nation.
He noted that securing the safe return of the victims had remained his foremost concern since the incident occurred.
Makinde commended the efforts of the security agencies involved in the operation, including the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the military, for their coordinated response that led to the victims’ release. State& Local Government
He also acknowledged the role played by President Tinubu in ensuring the success of the operation.
“We will use this opportunity to thank our service commanders, the Nigerian Police, DSS, the military, and of course, the President (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) for pushing really hard to get this done,” the governor said.
The successful rescue has brought relief to the affected families and residents of Oyo State, ending days of anxiety over the fate of the abducted pupils and their teachers.
