The management of Golden Vista Hotel in Imo said the hotel would employ over 600 people in the state directly and indirectly when fully operational.

The Public Relations Manager of the hotel, Mr Chika Obodozie, said this in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.

Obodozie noted that the hotel situated in New Owerri, has exquisitely furnished 95 standard rooms and four deluxe suites that would meet the taste of discerning customers.

He noted that the hotel was conceptualised by the promoters to be “a home away from home” as every facility to make guests comfortable and give them memorable stay were provided.

According to him, the core value of the hotel is “Great Customer, Quality Service” with the dictum” if we please you tell others, if we don’t please tell us.”

The public relations manager stated that the ultra-modern hotel opened for business early January and would soon be inaugurated.

Obodozie said that the guests are entitled to the use of gymnasium and swimming pool adding that there are buffet restaurant that offers African and continental dishes, with 24 hour Wi-fi and power.

Also available, he said, are coffee and cocktail lounge, cocktail bar, conference halls of different capacities including a rooftop conference facility that could conveniently accommodate 300 persons.

“The hotel equally has water tight security system manned by eagle eyed and well trained security personnel including a CCTV for effective surveillance of the hotel,” he said.

Obodozie said that the hotel was sighted in Owerri to boost the economy of Imo State adding “when fully operational the hotel will provide both direct and indirect employment for over 600 people to stem the rising unemployment rate in the state.

“The hotel management has already provided various goodies for its guests for the Valentine celebrations in February, which include free rooms for the first two couples, souvenirs and assorted take aways.”

He called on the state government to assist private individuals who are partnering with it in developing the state and providing employment for a conducive environment to operate in.

The tourism expert also called for more proactive measures by the various tiers of government in the management of the nation’s vast tourist potentials.

He argued that the odds currently confronting the nation’s tourism sector are not insurmountable given the history and experience of other nations who had faced similar problems but resolved them through pragmatic approaches.

“We want to be rated number one in the Hotel Industry East of the Niger.

“The hotel was established in the Eastern Heartland to further strengthen the development of the hospitality industry in the state,” he said.

Obodozie, therefore, called on Imo residents to come and savour the state-of-arts facilities in the hotel.

He also urged hotel owners to set up what he called an active and effective (PR) firm in the states they operate for their own benefit.  (vitalnewsngr.com)
