It regretted the loss of innocent civilians and some members of the Forest Guards who mounted a spirited resistance to the assailants on grounds of patriotism and love for their communities.

They charged the residents to remain calm and commended all the Forest Guards and the local hunters who, though lost five of their compatriots, equally neutralised several of the attackers.

The Committee of Friends described as a welcome development the directive by the Army Headquarters, directing the General Officer Commanding (GOC), two Division of the Nigerian Army in Ibadan, to relocate to Kwara State to further coordinate and boost military response to the development.
