FEC Shelves Discussion On Minimum Wage For More Consultation With States, LGs

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Tuesday stepped down the memorandum on the National Minimum Wage presented before it for discussion.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja.

Idris who spoke after the FEC meeting said the aim was to allow for more consultation with states and local governments, on what should be the new minimum wage for workers in the country.

According to Idris, once the consultation is over, government will announce the adopted minimum wage.
