Elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has donated N1.5 billion to victims of Maiduguri flood disaster in Borno State.
Dantata donated the money on Tuesday when he visited Governor Babagana Zulum at the Government House, Maiduguri.
He expressed sympathy with the state government and victims of the disaster.
Dantata, 96, lamented the downturn in the country’s economy’s fortune, pleading with the political elites to fear Allah.
In addition, he prayed for unity and peace in both Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.
In response, Governor Zulum conveyed his appreciation to Elder Statesman for his kind gesture, saying it acts as a strong symbol of hope and support in these difficult times.
“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of humanity by a 96-year-old to visit us.
“Let me say it, Our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims.
May Allah bless and reward you with Aljannah. Mu gode, Baba,” Zulum said.
The donation comes less than 244 hours after Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Dantata’s nephew, donated N1 billion to the flood victims.
