The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has been named the winner of the Best Governor on Infrastructure Development Award in the South-South Zone of Nigeria, 2025 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.

According to a press statement signed by the publisher and CEO, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Governor Okpebholo nomination was based on the recommendation of a team of experts who conducted an opinion poll.

He pointed out that the experts recognized his outstanding efforts in overhauling the road infrastructure in the state, particularly the ongoing construction of flyover bridges in Benin City, secondary schools, and numerous roads across the state.

He said the award will be presented during the 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, stressing that the ceremony will feature a Red Carpet Ceremony starting at 5 pm, followed by the main event at 6 pm and a dinner program.
