Four students if the Federal University Lokoja,Kogi State were among seven people that died in a ghastly motor accident on Lokoja – Okene road on Monday afternoon.
The students were travelling to the Felele, Lokoja permanent campus of the university in a campus shuttle bus when the accident occurred.
The driver of the shuttle bus was among those who died in the accident.
Two other dead victims of the accident were also believed to be students but this has not been established.
The accident occurred when a truck coming from Okene end of the road left its lane to crash into the shuttle bus going the university campus at Felele.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident.
Mr Samuel Oyedeji, FRSC Kogi Sector Command, who confirmed the accident blamed it on brake failure on the part if the truck.
Oyedeji said truck was heading to Abuja, saying the accident occurred at about 3.40p.m.
He said the truck carrying planks lost brake, crossed over to the other lane and crushed a shuttle Bus carrying FUL ‘s students.
