The Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman has approved the appointment of Dr.Femi Daniel as the new Deputy Provost of the Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State.
Jibril Abdulrahaman , Director of Information, of the college confirmed this in a statement in Okene on Sunday.
He said the appointment of the new Deputy Provost takes effect from 29th November, 2023.
The appointment is for an initial term of two years.
Until his appointment, Dr Daniel was the Dean, School of Education.
His appointment followed his victory at a keenly contested election for the office.
Dr. Femi Daniel is a seasoned educationist and erudite scholar of international repute who rose to the exalted rank of a Chief lecturer in 2013.
He attended University of Benin at different times and in different successions, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Education Mathematics in 1990, Masters of Education, Measurement and Evaluation in 1995 and thereafter in 2008, bagged a Doctor of Philosophy ( Ph.D) in Measurement and Evaluation.
Dr. Femi Daniel had also held top positions in the College, among which were, Editor-in – Chief, Confluence Journal of Education, School of Education, Federal College of Education, Okene,2008-2012, Head, of Department, Department of Educational Psychology 2008-2022, Member, Academic Board 2008-date, Director, Directorate of Strategic Planning 2022, among others.
Born on 5th November,1967, Dr. Femi Daniel hails from Igarra in Akoko – Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
He has numerous publications both local and international to his credit. In addition,he had published many books.
He had also supervised several projects at Master’s degree levels.
Dr Femi Daniel is a member of several professional bodies, both local and international.
These include : National Council on Measurement in Education ( NCME), Washington DC, National Association of Educational Researchers and Evaluation ( NAERE), Nigerian Society for Educational Psychologists (NISEP), to mention but a few. (vitalnewsngr.com)
