A front runner for the 2027 presidency, Peter Obi, has attributed his decision to resign from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to the
growing internal instability and alleged external interference within the party.
Obi stated this while
announcing his resignation from ADC, on Sunday.
In a statement, Obi clarified that his exit was not driven by personal grievances against the party’s leadership.
He expressed continued respect for the ADC National Chairman, David Mark, as well as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and other party stakeholders.
He, however, raised concerns over what he described as the infiltration of disruptive forces into the ADC, similar to challenges he previously faced in the Labour Party.
According to him, the party is increasingly entangled in internal conflicts, legal disputes, and divisions that undermine its focus on addressing Nigeria’s pressing national issues.
Obi warned that the prevailing atmosphere within the party reflects a political culture driven more by control and exclusion than by service and nation-building, reiterating his commitment to principled leadership and national development. (vitalnewsngr.com)
