CUPP Denies Endorsing Tinubu Administration In Infrastructure Development, Says Report Is False, Unauthorised
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) says it neither authorised nor sanctioned the inspection of any road project being undertaken by the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu.

It described its purported endorsement of the APC administration in infrastructure development by a section of the media as false and unauthorised by the leadership of the Coalition.

The CUPP has therefore washed its hand off the publication of the purported road inspection as seen and erroneously published in some news outlets.

Barr. Chukwudi Ezeobika,
Chairman, Media Committee, CUPP, made this clarification in a statement obtained by Vital News on Sunday.

Ezeobika is also a former National Legal Adviser, Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC).

The statement reads : “The attention of the Chairman of the Media Committee of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has been drawn to the alleged endorsement of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu – led All Progressives Congress in areas of Infrastructure, particularly Abuja – Lokoja – Benin roads which are in a very deplorable state at the moment, as published and circulated in the news media including the PUNCH newspapers.

“The Coalition wishes to use this medium to inform all Nigerians both within and outside the shores of the Nigerian State and to unequivocally state that
on the contrary, however, the Coalition is deeply concerned with the acute and deplorable state of basic road infrastructure across the length and breadth of the federation.

“The failure of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu – led APC government to provide Nigerians with good road and rail infrastructure clearly confirms the ineptitude and or incompetence of the current administration completely devoid of vision and purpose.

“This failure of the current administration to provide this much needed infrastructure has resulted in the deaths, destruction and kidnappings of thousands of Nigerians on Nigerian roads as bandits, kidnappers and criminals take undue advantage of this to perfect and execute their criminal acts on most of our highways.

“With huge and uncontrolled external borrowings by the current administration and lack of visible improvement in basic infrastructures in the various sectors of the Nigerian economy especially with regards to roads, health, education, electricity and security, the Coalition remains of a strong view that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu – led APC government remains the worst democratic government the country has ever had since returning to the democratic rule in 1999.”

“CUPP Condemns Moves By Certain Elements Of The APC Governments To Undermine Its Position On Worsening State Of Affairs And Dwindling Fortunes Of Nigerian Masses.”

The coalition also accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of stifling and undermining democracy and rule of law In Nigeria.
