Beraf Re-elected President Of ANOCA, Abu Gumel Remains Treasurer General

Algerian Moustapha Beraf has been retained as the President of the National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).

This significant development took place at the General Assembly of the African Olympic Movement held on March 15, 2025, in Algiers, Algeria.

The composition of the new executive committee reflects a mix of familiar faces and newcomers.

Beraf retained was unopposed, showcasing the trust and confidence placed in his leadership by the ANOCA community.

Similarly, Nigerian Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel secured a victory as Treasurer-General without facing any opposition, highlighting his proven track record and capabilities in managing financial matters.

One of the most closely contested positions was for the role of Secretary-General, which saw Sudanese candidate, Ahmed Abouelgasim Hashim engaged in a spirited battle with Cameroonian contender, David Ojong.

Hashim eventually emerged victorious with a convincing 29-12.
