Lokoja – The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Akeem Yusuf has ordered a water tight security across the State to ensure a peaceful Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
Spokesman of the state police command, SP William Aya said Yusuf gave the order on Monday in Lokoja during the monthly Conference of senior Officers, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical and operational Commanders in the State.
Aya said the Commissioner also charged Officers to beef up security ahead of the celebration to prevent any untoward situation in their Area of Responsibilities (AOR) throughout the holiday period and beyond.
“He further tasked all Divisional Police Officers to put in place, measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebrations.
“They are equally directed to deploy other operational assets to carry out confidence building and crime prevention patrol on major highways, residential and vulnerable points, places of worship and other places of interest,” the statement.
The Commissioner while congratulating Muslim Faithfuls in the State on the occasion of 2023 Eid-El Kabir celebration, reiterated the command’s preparedness and commitment in working synergy with other Security services in ensuring adequate security of lives and properties and denying space for criminal elements to thrive in and around the State.
“To this end, the Commissioner of Police enjoins the good people of Kogi State to remain security conscious through out the period, while calling on all law abiding citizens for their co-operation to curtail any act of criminality in the State,” Aya said. (vitalnewsngr.com)
