The Deputy Inspector – General of Police, Force Intelligence Department (FDI), Abuja, has ordered for the remand of self acclaimed President of the All Farmers Association Nigeria (AFAN), Arc. Kabiru Ibrahim and members of his executive council.
This follows reports of allegations bordering on impersonation, criminal intimidation, threat to life and conduct likely to cause breach of peace in a motion filed by Dr Farouk Rabiu Mudi led executives to the FID Abuja.
Dr Farouk Rabiu Mudi is asking the FID to intervene on the charges which is capable of inciting violence, misconduct, breach of peace and false reports that has been causing repeated damages to the fragile peace being enjoyed by AFAN, following the Court of Appeal Judgement in July 2025.
Dr Farouk is complaining against Kabir Ibrahim’s consistent use of the name and title of President of AFAN at public gathering, online media and on TV by the outlawed self imposter.
This follows further violation of Court of Appeal Judgement which dismisses his earlier appeal requesting for stay of execution which was strucked out for lacking in merit.
The FID was also briefed on a plan by same Arc. kabir Ibrahim to conduct an illegal election in Karu, organize an agric program and participate in other federal government intervention program for farmers still maintaining his hold on his position as AFAN President.
Also being held by the FID for questioning are Mohammed Magaji Getado who emerged winner in the kangaroo election held on Wednesday, and Femi Oke, who circulated his image on various social media platforms.
Others being held for interrogation include Bassey Iwang, Sadiq Modibo, Daniel Obiora Okafor, Sani Abubakar-Kofarmata and Alh Idrith Ya’u Maiunguwa by the Force Intelligence Department Abuja for clear violation of an existing court order.
The prosecution council led by CP Omale Ola questioned the rationale behind Arc. Kabir motive having been warned in a bail application he signed at the court to desist from parading himself as President of AFAN or participate in any activity related to All Farmers Association of Nigeria.
One of those on the run is the perceived winner in the illegal election Mohammed Magaji Getado who wasted no time in sharing his victory with former minister of communication, Prof Isa Ali Pantami on his social media handle which has caused unrest and damage to the members and the association.
The offences are contained in section 53(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 and the whole process has been finalised for prosecution at the court. (vitalnewsngr.com)
