Armed vandals have attacked attacked a 132KVA power substation in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The vandals said to be numbering six attacked the power station located at Temidire/Ajeja community on Ikirun Road on Monday.
Aside vandalising the power station, the attackers also carted away some expensive power equipment in the station.
The attack was coming few days after the Ilorin power station in Kwara State was similarly vandalised by yet to be identified persons
Some observers who spoke in the two incidents insisted that this is a clear case of sabotage against ongoing efforts by the federal government to improve power supply nationwide.
It was learnt that a team of high chiefs from the palace of Soun of Ogbomoso has visited the vandalised power station.
Officials of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from Ganmo in Kwara State station where Temidire power station will be connected, also rushed down to Ogbomoso to asses the situation.
Among the officers from TCN Ilorin are Engr Adetunji (Assistant GM Transmission), Eng Afusat Umar Muazu, and Engr Adetoyinbo A. Adekunle ti assess the situation.
