Vice President Kashim Shettima will on Monday, November 17, 2025, be in Lokoja, Kogi State, to receive former Governor Idris Wada and other political bigwigs into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shettima will be joined at the event scheduled to hold at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja, by the national Chairman of APC, Professor Nentawe Gushwe Yilwatda, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, former Governor Yahaya Bello to receive the decampees among whom is also the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the SDP in the 2023 election, Mr Ranti Abenemi.
Also expected to switch party loyalty are members of the state house if assembly who announced their defections to the APC on the floor of the assembly on Wednesday, November 12.
The affected lawmakers are Hon. Bode Ogunmola (PDP – Ogori/Magongo), Hon. Idowu Ibikunle (ADC – Yagba East), and Hon. Sunday Daku (PDP – Bassa).
The stare Commissioner for Finance, Asiwaju Ashiru Idris in a statement on Sunday in Lokoja Lokoja stated that the event is to formally welcome eminent personalities to the ruling APC.
Ashiru, who is also the Director of Mobilisation for Tinubu/ Ododo 2027 Continuity Support Group , said both Wada and Abenemi will decamp from their supporters from PDP and SDP.
He mentioned Mohammed D Mohay of MS Square Group, Abdullahi Shehu Dansebe, Mr Samuel James,Yahaya Ijowa, Mohammed Rukayat, Maaji Abubarkar Ahmed, Shatu Suleiman, Chief Dada Adeyanju, Umar Aminat among those decamping to APC.
The statement enjoined all members of the party across the state to turn up en masse for the event.
