Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has suspended three of his Commissioners for their failure to attend a State Executive Council meeting.
Jude Okpor, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, announced the suspension of the Commissioners to newsmen on Tuesday during a briefing.

The affected Commissioners are iSolomon Azi, the Commissioner for Grants and Donor Agencies, Victor Chukwu, the Commissioner for Environment and Ikeuwa Omebe, the Commissioner for Rural Development.
Their suspension is for one month, Okpor said
He said the governor took this action after the meeting, where the three commissioners were notably absent without any explanation.
Okpor said the governor also directed that the suspended commissioners would not enjoy the benefits and privileges associated with their roles during their suspension period.
Meanwhile, the Governor has warned contractors handling state projects to ensure they meet deadlines and adhere strictly to the terms of their contracts.
He stated that the government would not hesitate to use legal means to ensure compliance.
