Adamawa Approves N855mln For Building Of Hostels In Law School

Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved N855 million for the building of four blocks of hostel at the Nigeria Law School in Yola, the state capital.

The State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Iliya James stated this while addressing newsmen st the meeting of the State Executive Council (SEC), in Yola.

He said the hostel project would be completed within 12 months.

James said the decision of the council was to cushion the suffering of students, particularly in the area of accommodation deficit in the school.

He said that council gave the approval to ensure that more students are admitted for the mandatory one-year law stud.

He stated further that the institution is the only law school in the North-East region.

The Commissioner also said the scholl which took off with 250 students in 2013, currently has 400 students.

He said with the intervention, more students will be admitted.

On sports, the Commissioner of Youths and Sports Development, Barrister Wali Yakubu said the Adamawa State contingents were in Taraba from 28th to 31st August for a zonal competition as a prerequisite for the 9th September national youth game scheduled to take place in Asaba, Delta State.

Yakubu said the state participated actively and clinched first in seven of the 10 games and second in three, giving Adamawa the baton to represent the region in Asaba.
