Lokoja – The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has presented cheques worth N15,994,711.28 to the families of 28 police officers who died in active service.
The cheques were presented to the beneficiaries on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba by the state Deputy Commissioner of police, Abel Audu.
Spokesman of the state police command, SP William Aya stated this in a statement in Lokoja
According to him, the gesture is part of the “Group Life Assurance Scheme” and IGP’s “Family welfare Insurance” aimed at improving the welfare of the families of deceased police officers and also encouraging other officers who are in still active service.
DCP Audu during the presentation of the Cheques to the next of kin of the deceased officers noted that their death was painful and tragic.
He urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but make judicious use of it for the betterment of their families.
The beneficiaries, appreciated the police force for the gesture and promised to make use of the money for the benefit of their families.(vitalnewsngr.com)
