One of the newly appointed Assistant Coaches of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Akin Olowookere.is dead.
Olowookere slumped on the pitch and died suddenly during the team’s Monday morning training session at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
He was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead on arrival
Olowookere was among three newly recruited assistant coaches of the team that were formally unveiled at a brief ceremony in Ibadan, on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Before joining 3SC, Olowookere was formerly with the Sunshine Stars of Akure as a player and later tactician.
The soft spoken gaffer was for years a regular player with Sunshine Stars of Akure before taking up a coaching job.
He recently served as an assistant coach with the club, under head coach them, Edith Agoye.
