34th Anniversary : KOGI, MAMA NIGERIA
By Torere Oghenefejiro Testimony
In her womb lies great treasures
Treasures that made many great and wealthy
Compassionate, selfless, loving and equitable
Mama you let go your treasures for the benefit of all
Mama, many are your children
Some far across rivers, mountains, and deserts
Others so close, but you love them all and equal too
Reminiscences on the day your Sister, Flora Shaw stood 1500 ft above sea level and christen your son
Flora said, Niger Area, now Nigeria
Yes! this was where it all began, Nigeria began here (Kogi )
Alas, we ask. Mother, what is the mystery of the Confluence of the majestic river Niger and Benue here.
Hmmmm, son, you ask well
Know it today that the Confluence is the symbol of our irrevocable bond of unity
I am kogi, your mother , the unity and the bridge of Nigeria.
Thank you.
