The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has expelled the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Elvert Ayambem Ekom, and 565 other
students over poor academic performance.
The name of the Speaker and that of other students expelled for poor Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) was made public by the university on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
Ayambem is representing Ikom 2 State Constituency in the Cross River State Assembly.
The expulsion which affected Ayambem and other students cut across 100 to 400 levels, affecting 15 faculties and departments of the university.(vitalnewsngr.com)
