The Tinubu Stakeholders Forum (TSF) has commended President Bola Tinubu for securing N250 billion for the development of light rail projects in Kaduna and Kano States.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Ahmad Sajoh, and Secretary Danjuma Sada, the group described the initiative as a bold step toward balanced and inclusive national development.
It said: “The landmark investment of N150 billion in Kano and N100 billion in Kaduna clearly demonstrates that President Tinubu is delivering on his promise to spread infrastructure projects equitably across all regions of the country.
”These light rail projects will not only transform urban transportation but also boost commerce, create jobs, and improve the daily lives of millions of Nigerians in the North-West.”
The Forum noted that the administration’s commitment to subnational development is reflected in its support for state and local governments, especially with the improved revenues now accruing from the federation account as a result of subsidy removal and fiscal reforms.
“With more financial autonomy for local governments and increased state revenues, the light rail projects will serve as catalysts for sustainable growth, regional trade, and social mobility.
”The projects are part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises connectivity, infrastructure renewal, and national integration.
”By bridging developmental gaps between regions, the Tinubu government is laying a solid foundation for long-term prosperity and unity.”
The Forum urged the governments and people of Kaduna and Kano States to support and take full ownership of these projects by ensuring their successful implementation and sustainability.
TSF also hailed the President for his commitment to Northern development through landmark investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and social programs.
”From major transportation projects to renewed support for local industries and empowerment initiatives, President Tinubu is ensuring that the North remains a central pillar in Nigeria’s growth story,” it added.
