Kaduna – Troops of Operation Forest Sanity have killed eight bandits and seized motorcycles during patrols in the Chikun and Birnin Gwari areas of Kaduna State.
The Kaduna State Government said the troops set up positions at the bandits’ crossing points in the areas.
Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, disclosed this in a statement.
He said, “The troops made contact with bandits and neutralised eight, while recovering four motorcycles and three mobile phones in the first successful mission.”
Aruwan said the troops then engaged the bandits in a second mission and recovered two motorcycles.
In a similar operation, troops neutralised two bandits during clearance patrol in the Sabon Birni-Maidaro-Dogon Dawa-Galadimawa-Kidandan-Fatika axes.
Aruwan said the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle and two magazines loaded with 52 rounds.
