Top Staff Of FMC Abeokuta Commits Suicide

The Acting Head of the Audit Department at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Adeniyi Oluwaseun, has committed suicide by jumping into a well in the Obantoko area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Report gathered indicated that Adeniyi took his life on Sunday evening shortly after having his dinner.

The Head of Public Relations and Communication Unit at FMC Abeokuta, Segun Orisajo, confirmed the incident.

“It is true that he committed suicide.

“It was an unfortunate incident. The management feels saddened about this development.

“The unfortunate incident caught the entire management off guard.

“It is a quiet and irreparable loss.The management extends its heartfelt condolences to the department, as well as to the immediate and extended family members of the deceased,” Orisajo said.

He also described the late Adeniyi as a hardworking and loyal staff member whose sudden death came as a shock to everyone at the hospital.

The deceased did not leave any suicide note.

However, it was gathered that Adeniyi, had been battling mental health challenges and had previously undergone treatment.

His body was recovered from the well and has since been deposited at a morgue.
