The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Monday confirmed the collapse of the national power grid.
As a result, nationwide outage has occurred in the afternoon, leaving power consumers across the country in total darkness.
Ndidi Mbah, the Public Affairs Manager of TCN confirmed the collapse if the grid in a statement in Abuja.
She said restoration of the national power grid is already ongoing.
Mbah also added that the power supply has already been restored in Abuja and a few other areas.
“Abuja has already been restored, so have different areas. Full restoration ongoing,” she said.
Today’s incident marked the second collapse since mid-September when distribution firms nationwide reported unavailability of bulk electricity from federal infrastructure.
