Kano – Government representatives, quality regulators, cement dealers, block makers and some end-users have said that Africa’s cement giant, Dangote Cement PLC produces the best quality of cement products in the continent.

They stated this on Tuesday in Kano during a workshop attended by the representatives of the Kano State Government, Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON),
and block makers, among others.

The stakeholders also unanimously agreed that the ongoing nationwide workshop and sensitization of block manufacturers will help check
the menace of building collapse
in the country.

Speaking at the workshop, representative of the Kano State Government, Alhaji Muhammad Garba Kwall said that Dangote Cement Plc is not only the biggest company but produces the best quality products in Africa.

He described the company as socially responsible, commending it for giving back to society through the sensitization workshop and creation of various platforms to educate end users so as stem the incidence of building collapse in the country.

Speaking, Regional Director, Kano Directorate, Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON), Mr Albert Wilberforce urged block moulders to patronise the quality cement products being produced by Dangote Cement Plc.

He added that SON was partnering with the company to ensure that only quality cement products are produced by the company.

In his speech , the Kano State Coordinator (II) of SON, Engr Hauwa M Husseini urged the block moulders to always comply with standard practice in order to curb the menace of building collapse.

Also speaking, Regional Sales Director, North West, Dangote Cement PLC, Aliyu Dan-Aliyu
urged participants to be company’s ambassadors by telling their customers about the quality of
the cement.

“A customer who wants to build a house, doesn’t know the quality or type of cement to use.

“It is the responsibility of the builder to advise him on the desired cement to use for quality building.

“In this regard, you are the ones responsible to advise them on using Dangote cement because of its quality.

“The artisans and block makers are central to the cement delivery value chain; hence we want to assure you that we will continue to have such interactive sessions, going forward, knowing that it will serve as a feedback mechanism for us in the Dangote Cement Plc,” he said.

Speaking, Coordinator, National Artisans of the company, Mr Johnson Olaniyi, said the aim
of the sensitisation was to make people know about the quality products of Dangote Cement PLC.

According to him, the workshop will give the block moulders and allied product manufacturers the opportunity to once again enhance their capacity and adhere to global best practices.

Olaniyi said the workshop would also help tackle the menace of building collapse by engaging the manufacturers and builders on standards.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Chairman, Kano State Block Moulders, and Allied Manufacturers, Umar Faruq Musa applauded Dangote Cement PLC
for coming up with the sensitisation/workshop programme.

He said it will go a long way to educate its members on measures such as mixing cement with water and others. (vitalnewsngr.com)
