As the nationwide hardship protest draws near, Nigeria Police has recalled all mobile policemen attached to prominent individuals in Lagos State.
The Force said the mobile policemen are being withdrawn : ” In view of the planned Nationwide Protest, it becomes imperative to temporary withdraw some of the personnel attached to you in order to muster sufficient officers to dominate the public space.”
This withdrawal was confirmed by a letter addressed to the affected personalities by CSP ORON E. Moses of No. 2 Squadron, Police Mobile Force, Keffi Street, Lagos.
The letter with reference number CB:3422/LS/2PMF/VOL.5/293 dated July 25 but sighted by Vital News on Saturday, July 27 , 2024 said the withdrawal of the mobile policemen was temporary.
It said the recall of the mobile policemen was a proactive necessary measures to enhance the operational capacity/capability of the Squadron .
Full text of the letter reads : ” NOTIFICATION OF TEMPORARY WITHDRAWAL OF PERSONNEL FOR NATIONAL ASSIGNMENT.
Above subject refers.
” 2. In view of the planned Nationwide Protest, it becomes imperative to temporary withdraw some of the personnel attached to you in order to muster sufficient officers to dominate the public space.
“3.This is part of the proactive necessary measures to enhance the operational capacity/capability of the Squadron and your understanding in the above regard is highly solicited.
“4. Accept as usual the assurances of the esteemed regards of the Commanding Officer, please.
“CSP.ORON E. Moses No. 2 Squadron, Police Mobile Force, Keffi Street, Lagos.”
