Kogi State Police Command has warned political thugs and hoodlums to stay off the venue of the inauguration ceremony of the new Kogi State governor on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

The police command issued the warning in a statement obtained by Vital News on Friday in Lokoja.

The statement signed by the command’s Spokesman, SP William Aya said police is determined to deal decisively with any miscreants who want to disrupt the peace of the State.

He said the warning is : “Consequent upon the intelligence that reveal that some hoodlums plan to attack Guests/Visitors who will be attending the Inauguration Ceremony in the State.

“It was further revealed that the planned attack is aimed at disrupting the peace and thereby create disharmony among the citizens of the State.

“It is on this note that the Commissioner of Police sternly warns all trouble makers, disgruntled elements, who may want to disrupt the existing peace the State is enjoying to stay away from the State as the Police and other Security Agencies are ready to deal with any miscreants.

“The CP further advised those who have issues to ventilate their grievances through legal processes as any act that will lead to break down of law and order in the State will not be tolerated.

“To this end, the CP, urges all law-abiding people of the State to continue to collaborate with the Police and other Security Agencies with credible and useful information on anything they reasonably suspect within their neighborhood in order to curtail any acts of criminalities in the State.”
