Lokoja – Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to commence immediate investigations into the fire incident that gutted the state house of assembly complex in the early hours of Monday.
A statement in Lokoja by the state police command spokesman, SP William Aya said Egbuka further directed that the investigation should be carried out in synergy with the Fire Service.
According to him, this is to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the inferno without much delay
Aya said the Commissioner gave the order shortly after leading a team of tactical operatives for an on the spot assessment of the extent of damage on the complex
“He has also ordered deployment of tactical teams to cordon-off the complex for preservation and to ensure adequate security in and around the burnt complex,” the statement said. (vitalnewsngr.com)
