The Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) has been declared winner of the bye election conducted by the INEC on Saturday, August 16, 2025, to fill vacant seat of the Ibadan North Federal constituency in Oyo State.
Declaring the results, the
Returning Officer, Prof. Abiodun Oluwadare, declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate secured 18,404 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), which scored 8,312.
African Democratic Congress, All Progressives Grand Alliance and Zenith Labour Party received 88, 40 and 18 votes respectively.
“Folajinmi Oyekunle of PDP having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declare the winner of the election,” Oluwadare said.
The election was held to fill the House of Representatives seat left vacant by the passing of Rep. Olaide Akinremi of the APC on July 10, 2024.
