Hon. Mudashiru Obasa on Monday returned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
His returned followed the sudden resignation of Mrs Mojisola Meranda as the Speaker of the house.
Other principal officers of the house also resigned their positions.
Meranda explained that her resignation was meant to protect the Assembly.
“I take a bow as your Speaker,” She said.
Prior to her departure, lawmakers took the opportunity to commend her legislative expertise, diligence, and overall performance during her brief tenure.
Desmond Olusola Elliot praised her for her effective leadership, while lawmaker Temitope Adewale Ifako-Ijaiye I described her as a “heroine of democracy.
“You came, you saw, you conquered. You are a victim of circumstance. This house is in tears.”
