NUPENG, PENGASSAN Supporters Carpet Zik Gbemre’s Over Recent Statements, Says He’s Uninformed’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A group, Frontier Waves, has strongly condemned Zik Gbemre’s recent criticism of NUPENG and PENGASSAN over their face-off with Dangote.

In a press statement signed by Oluwa Vincent, ,President and Ramsey Nede, Secretary, Frontier Waves described Zik Gbemre’s comments as uninformed, insensitive, and puppet-like.

The group wrote: “From what Zik Gbemre wrote over the face-off between Dangote and the two Unions, it is obvious that he is very uninformed and we will not be surprised if he is on the payroll of Dangote and has been paid by his paymaster to do what he has done.

“He is fighting for his stomach and so unfortunate that he is not on the side of suffering Nigerian Masses.”

Frontier Waves questioned Zik Gbemre’s motives, asking : “Where was Zik Gbemre over these years when NUPENG and PENGASSAN have been fighting for a better deal for the Nigerian Masses.

“We know for sure that Zik Gbemre has benefited and still benefiting from the many battles NUPENG and PENGASSAN have been fighting for the Nigerian Masses.”

The group commended NUPENG and PENGASSAN for their efforts in protecting the interests of Nigerians.

“A normal Nigerian who is well informed will not kick against the actions of NUPENG and PENGASSAN against Dangote.

“These Union leaders should be commended and not condemned for the good things they are doing for the masses.

“It is only an uninformed individual like Zik Gbemre who do not have the interest of the people at heart will suggest that now is the time to purge oil industry of the nuisances called NUPENG and PENGASSAN.

“NUPENG and PENGASSAN are responsible and legal organizations as enshrined in Nigeria constitution and so far they have continued to carry out their noble roles and mandates as trade unions in the oil and gas sectors,” the group said.

Frontier Waves further stated : “It is only an illiterate and puppet of Dangote like Zik Gbemre that will suggest that the leaders of NUPENG and PENGASSAN deserve beating by the masses for inflicting further hardships on them in the past two days.

“Zik Gbemre, you are entitled to your opinion, but we want to point it out to you that you do not have supporters and you have no base and so you can decide to be a puppet to Dangote and smile to the bank from whatever you are getting from your paymaster and let our Union leaders who are giving our people a fair deal to be.

“If not for NUPENG and PENGASSAN, so many of our people across the country would have been thrown away into the labour market from their jobs and certainly someone like you will not be bothered if our people are jobless.”

The group commended NUPENG and PENGASSAN for their efforts in protecting the interests of Nigerians, saying that their leaders deserve recognition rather than condemnation.

“It’s only an uninformed individual like Zik Gbemre, who doesn’t have the interest of the people at heart, who would suggest that NUPENG and PENGASSAN are nuisances,” they wrote. (vitalnewsngr.com)
