The AEDC had earlier in the day announced that the national electricity grid suffered a collapse on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, leading to widespread power outages across the country.
The distribution company confirmed this in a public notice issued via its official X handle.
According to the company, the collapse occurred at about 11:23 a.m., resulting in the loss of power supply to customers across its franchise areas.
The statement reads :
“Please be informed that the power outage currently being experienced is due to a loss of supply from the national grid at 11:23 a.m. today, affecting electricity supply across our franchise areas.”
AEDC assured customers that efforts are ongoing to restore supply as engineers and relevant stakeholders work to stabilize the grid.
