A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet crashed at about 4pm of Saturday, December 6, 2025 near Karabonde village, Borgu Local Government, Niger State.

However, two pilots on board the ill fated jet reportedly ejected safely before the jet crashed.

A local media outlet, Lapai TV first announced the incident in a Facebook update accompanied by a 57-second video showing the burning wreckage.

The message read : “Two Nigerian Air Force Pilots Reportedly Survive Alpha Jet Crash Close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.”

“I think the aircraft took off from the Kainji air force base. We learned that the air force is mobilizing to the crash site,” one resident said.

Another villager, Lukman Sulaiman, corroborated the report, stating that the jet landed “very close to the town.”

“God is so good; the pilots ejected safely,” he said.

“We heard a noisy landing crash… we were scared, but we later trooped back to the scene.”

As of press time, the Nigerian military had yet to release an official statement on the cause of the crash, the condition of the pilots, or the extent of damage.
