The publisher/Editor-in-Chief of The Nigerian Post Newspaper, Abu Michael, has extolled the administration Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for citing micro-projects in some hard-to-reach communities in different parts of the state.
Abu said the governor deserve commendation for his courage to establish the projects in spite of security threats in such areas.
The commendation was contained in a message from the Publisher to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Recall that in recent times, Yagba West and Yagba East LGAs have been in the news due to series of attacks by bandits and unknown gunmen, which forced some residents to flee their communities.
Mr. Abu, who was in Governor Ododo’s entourage during his visit to Yagba West, gave the commendation shortly after the visit, during which he identified projects executed by the State Government at Isanlu-Esa and Okoloke communities, both in Yagba West LGA.
The micro-projects in Okoloke community are classroom renovation and motorised boreholes, while those in Isanlu-Esa community are clinic renovation and motorised borehole.
The Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency played a crucial role in carrying out the identified projects in the mentioned communities, where they conducted several visits for community engagement and project monitoring in spite of the challenging terrain and security risks.
According to records, these projects are few of many which the Agency has supported in remote areas across the State.
The remote areas are among those in dire need of government intervention, where the safety and accessibility are also major concerns.
The Publisher urged continued government support for the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency in terms of funding to sustain this undertaking, while maintaining that grassroots communities have felt the impact of governance through the Agency.
Mr Abu equally lauded the management and staff of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency for their resilience and doggedness.
He noted that the organisation has proven to be selfless and patriotic in the discharge of their responsibilities to rural communities in the State.
