Abuja – The doping officer for the Nigeria -Ghana match Dr Joseph Kabungo from Zambia, suddenly collapsed and died Tuesday night shortly after the game.
The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained and there has been no official report from the NFF.
Kabungo , a CAF Official and medical doctor was said to have died after the pitch invasion by irate fans and the subsequent attacks on Nigeria football officials.
Super Eagles could only conclude the 2022 World Cup qualifier 1-1 against the Black Stars of Ghana.
Dissatisfied by the outcome, irate fans went after officials and players to show their displeasure and in the process damaged some facilities at the MKO Abiola Stadium venue of the match.
Some officials and players were also said not to be so lucky as they were physically assaulted by the mob.
Tunisian referee, Selma Selik blew the final whistle at the MKO Abiola Stadium to effectively sealed the hope of Nigeria being at Quatar, the venue of the 2022 World Cup.(vitalnews)
