The Chairman/CEO of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), retired Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of 25 personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in a military plane crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, October 5, 2026.
Marwa stated this on Wednesday in a letter of condolence addressed to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.
In the letter, Marwa conveyed the Agency’s heartfelt sympathies to the Air Force leadership, officers, men and women and the families of the fallen heroes.
Marwa described the news of the crash as devastating, saying it was received with profound grief.
He praised the Nigerian Air Force for consistently demonstrating exceptional patriotism, gallantry and unwavering commitment to the defence and security of the nation.
According to him, the loss of officers who dedicated their lives to national service is a terrible blow, not only to the Air Force but to the entire country and the national security community.
“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” the NDLEA boss said.
Marwa then prayed that Almighty God comfort their loved ones, strengthen the Nigerian Air Force, and grant the departed souls eternal rest.
He also assured the Air Force of the Agency’s warm regards and solidarity of all officers, men and women of NDLEA during this difficult period.
