Lions International District Presents Charter Certificate To Ogun Sapphire Lions Club,  Lion Idowu Omolabake Becomes Charter President

Ogun Sapphire Lions Club District 404B3 Nigeria has been Chartered with the induction of the Charter President, Lion Idowu E. Omolabake NLCF and other officers for year 2023-2024 Lions Service Year.

At the Charter presentation ceremony which held on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Senator Ibikunle Amosu Hall located within the premises of African Church Grammar School, Ita-Iyalode, Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, Club’s Charter certificate was presented to the Charter President Lion Idowu E. Omolabake and individual certificate of other members were presented to them.

The Commander of Ogun State National Drug of Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Lion Ibiba Jane Odili who was the keynote speaker at the event urged members to imbibe the spirit of service to humanity, ascribing it to the core value of Lions International.

She advised them to focus on the Club’s core value, including the fight against drug abuse, vision, feeding the hungry, youth empowerment, caring for the environment etc.

Her words : “engage in intervention programmes, especially on drug abuse and other vices.

” Empowerment programmes are also important, for example you can train people in sewing and give them sewing machines.

“Buy a gift of grinding machines to women in the community and encourage them to warn their children against drugs.

“Some of these people who involved in drugs or their children are involved in drugs.”

Also, the Charter President, Lion Idowu Omolabake NLCF expressed her readiness to serve the club diligently with commitment and total dedication with her wealth of experience of over 11years in Lions Club.

She applauded the efforts of the Pioneer District Governor, Lion (Otunba) Olayiwola Fadairo PMJF, NLCF on ensuring that Ogun Sapphire Lions Club has come to stay.

Lion Idowu Omolabake NLCF equally pledged to demonstrate an enviable leadership style as well as carry members along while steering the affairs of the club.

“Great Lions in the house, I really want to say a big thanks to God, once again to my immediate family who made this possible again with their total and absolute support always, Lion (Cmrd) Olujimi Adekunle Desmond NLCF who in his absence operate like being physically present and Ogun Sapphire members that made it a huge success.

“Once again, I want to appreciate every guest here present from the Royal Fathers, Chairman of the Day/Chief Launcher, special guests etc, I say thanks for coming,” She said.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the induction, the newly inducted secretary of the club, Lion Olujimi Olanrewaju expressed confidence in Lion Idowu’s leadership, saying that She will record a giant strides.

Olujimi noted that Ogun Sapphire Lions Club will diligently execute the goals of Lions International to the fullest.

Lion Olujimi stressed that Lions Club is dedicated to humanitarian service in the communities facing challenges such as water, health and returns out-of-school children back to school to make sure that their gets better.  (vitalnewsngr.com)
