Kogi Youths Celebrate Bello At 48, Seek Law To Make June 18 A Day To Honour Him

Lokoja – Kogi Youth Ambassadors, a coalition of youth groups in Kogi State has said that it will send a proposal to the state house assembly to declare June 18 of every year as a day to celebrate the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The group stated this on Sunday in Lokoja during an event organised in collaboration with SEA Vanguard for Ododo Yibo 2023 to mark the 48th birthday anniversary of Governor Bello.

Co-ordinator of SEA for Ododo YIBO 2023 who stated this said Bello has since assumption office in 2016 performed beyond the expectations of the people of the state.

He said that Bello has shown exemplary leadership qualities as a youthful governor, urging youths across to emulate him.

Oyibo explained that it is not out of place for the group and other youths in the state to seek a law, setting aside June 18th of every year to commemorate the the outstanding achievement of Governor Yahaya Bello.

While expressing his support for the decision of the youths, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, the House of Representatives member, representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency promised to jin hands with the youths to make their decision a reality.

Sanni who was the Guest of Honour at the event said youths are the future of the nation, saying that they are critical to the economic development of the society.

The House of Representatives member said Governor Yahaya Bello has demonstrated that future lies in the hands of youths.

He urged youths in the state emulate the selfless lifestyle of honour, integrity , focus and courage of Governor Bello to enable them to go far in life.

“Yahaya Bello has made youths to believe that you can live your life, you can be what you have chosen to be in life, ” he said.

He commended the youths for organising the event to commemorate 48th birthday anniversary of the governor and to celebrate his remarkable achievements since his assumption of office as the governor of the state since 2016.

“We are gathered here today to celebrate with him, to identify with him and he has been able to show that youths can do better.

“His visionary projects and policies have uplifted our communities, providing us with better roads, improved healthcare facilities, and quality education.

“Through his tireless efforts, he has laid a solid foundation for sustainable development and progress.

“But perhaps the most profound impact of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s leadership lies in his ability to inspire and elevate the youth of our great nation.

“He has not only given opportunities to the sons and daughters of Kogi State but has also paved the way for young leaders across Nigeria,” Abdulraheem said.

The event was organised by leaders and members of youth groups from the across the 21 local government areas of the state .
