Lokoja – Senator Smart Adeyemi, the Senator representing Kogi west senatorial district has lost his return bid to a former member of the House of Representatives, Sunday Karimi.
Adeyemi, a three-term senator
on Saturday lost in the the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senatorial primary election by polling 43 votes while Karimi scored 288 votes.
The primary election which was held at Kabba, the headquarters
of the Senatorial district also saw other contestants ; Dr Muyiwa Aina scoring 73 votes, the only woman in the race, Doyin Eshanumi, 1 vote, Isah Abdulkareem, 9 votes while 6 votes were declared invalid. (vitalnews)
