Lokoja – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been commended over its initiative to set up a Female Strike Force to tackle issues of insecurity in schools, girl- child abuse and other related offences in the country.
The Executive Chairman, Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Suleiman Ndalayi Abdullahi ,gave the remarks when the Female Strike Force of the NSCDC, Kogi State Command paid him a visit.
Abdulahi who described the Female Strike Force as ever ready Combatants, said “women are keepers of the home and those who bear the burden of children, hence are in a better position to secure the nation.”
He noted with dismay, the incessant activities of bandits in which children, especially women have been major victims.
According to him, the establishment of Female Strike Force is a welcome development which will salvage the lives of our children and enhance peaceful coexistence in the country at large.
He appealed to the leadership of the NSCDC to establish the force in all the Local Government Areas of the country.
The Chairman explained that this will go a long way to enhance the safety of indigenes and their socio-economic well being.
Earlier in her remarks, the Leader of the Kogi State Command of the Female Strike Force, ASC 1 Audu Comfort Ladi, said the strike force was put in place to curb incessant activities of bandits against students in schools, especially the females students. ( vitalnewsngr.com )
