Kogi State government has expressed its readiness to support and partner with the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIB) in the area of housing development.
The State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, stated this in Lokoja while receiving the state executives of the Institute.
Abanika, said the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has a total passion for quality service delivery in all sectors of the state.
He added that under the able leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, his Ministry would work with the Builders , especially in infrastructural development.
The Commissioner commended the team for putting themselves together to ensure the standard of building infrastructure in the state, charging the Institute not to relent in its efforts to make sure Standards are exacted on buildings in the state.
Speaking, the state Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Modupe Obafemi said the aim of the visit was to inform the State Government of the coming 2024 Week of the institute and to seek partnership and support of the state government.
Obafemi, who unveiled the theme of this year’s Builders Week as “The Role of the Builders in Sustainable Housing Delivery” also commended Hon. Abanika for the warm reception accorded the team.
She further called on the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to carry them along in the scheme of things for the growth and development of the state.
As part of the activities for 2024 Builders Day, the association visited the campus of the Federal University Lokoja and other project sites in the state. (vitalnewsngr.com)
