The All Progressives Congress Party (APC) candidate for the November 11 Kogi State governorship election, Hon Ododo Ahmed Usman, has visited former Governor Idris Wada as part of his ongoing consultation with critical stakeholders across
party, ethnic and religious divides.
Captain Wada served as the governor of the state from 2011 to 2015.
Welcoming the governorship candidate to his Abuja residence on Wednesday Wada prayed for Ododo’s success in the upcoming November polls.
He said that his main interest is to see a peaceful and progressive Kogi State.
However, Wada, reminded Ododo that it is God that grants power to whomever He wishes.
Wada congratulated Ododo for winning the primary election to emerge APC flag bearer.
He harped on the importance of peaceful elections, saying it will create necessary enabling environment for growth and development.
The former governor assured the APC candidate of his support and prayers ahead of the November polls in the state.
Ododo, earlier in his address thanked Captain Wada for his warm reception and hospitality.
He said he came to visit the former governor to seek his blessings, prayers, and wise counsel ahead of the November elections.
The APC candidate stressed the importance of continuity in governance and thanked Wada and other former governors of the state for their efforts and contributions.
Ododo promised to build on the achievements of the previous and the incumbent administration’s of Governor Yahaya Bello, especially the legacy of equity, fairness, and justice.
He called on Wada, who he described as a man of exceptional humility and fear of God, to endorse his candidacy and mobilise his supporters and political associates for his victory at the general elections.
Ododo was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Hon Abdulmutalib Mohammed among many others.
