Abuja – President Muhammadu Buhari has ruled out political solution to the treasonable and felony charges levelled against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of a group agitating for Biafra Republic.
Buhari who stated this while fielding questions on Channel TV said that the ongoing trial of Kanu will follow due process, saying he must defend himself.
” There won’t be any political solution for Nnamdi Kanu. He must defend himself, I’ve given him the opportunity to do that,” the President said.
Buhari also explained why the country turned to China for loans to develop its rail sector .
“If we have turned down the assistance we got from China, perhaps today, people will be practically walking from Lagos to Ibadan,” he said.
He also disclosed that bandits operating in the country have been officially labelled as terrorists and ” we are going to deal with them as such.”
When asked about what readily comes to his mind whenever Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , the major opposition party in the country is mentioned, Buhari simply replied “failure.”
On the calls for the administrative restructuring of the country from various quarters, Buhari said ”
those who talk about restructuring, I want them to define their own meaning of restructuring.” (vitalnews)
