A group, Concerned Constituents of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in Kogi State has urged voters in the constituency to begin search for a credible and viable candidate to replace Architect Idris Salman in the House of Representatives in 2027.

The group made the call in a statement released to media houses in Lokoja on Friday.

The group insisted that the constituency deserves a better a representative anchored on vision, competence, consistency, transparency, and a true ideology — not one driven by personal ambition, political inconsistency, and borrowed achievements.

The statement was the group’s reaction a write up titled : “Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Reps Contest: A Battle of Ideologies, Not Just Ambition.”

Full text of the statement as issued by the group reads : “The attention of the Concerned Constituents of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency has been drawn to a recent publication titled “Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Reps Contest: A Battle of Ideologies, Not Just Ambition.”

“While the article attempts to frame the ongoing political discourse as one of ideologies, we find it necessary to set the record straight.

“The fundamental question remains: where is the ideology in a man who defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after losing a primary election, only to abandon the platform within one year to seek refuge in the All Progressives Congress (APC)?

“This pattern is not only inconsistent, but it also exposes the absence of conviction, principle, and ideological grounding.

“Truth be told, Arc. Idris Salman has failed by every yardstick, indices, and parameter required to measure meaningful representation and development.

“The two years of his stewardship have left Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency worse off than he met it.

“The absence of visible projects, enduring programs, or life-changing initiatives is too glaring to be ignored.

Architect Idris Salman

“Even more troubling is the fact that most of the projects attributed to him were not facilitated by him.

“Instances include: Collecting transformers facilitated by Senator Sunday Steve Karimi and laying claim to them as his project.

“Collecting solar street lights facilitated by Hon. James Faleke and rebranding them as his achievement.

“Collecting food supplies and agricultural inputs from other agencies and passing them off as constituency interventions.

“These misleading claims beg very serious questions that demand urgent answers :

1. How has Arc. Salman spent our Constituency Allowance?

2. What visible projects within Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu can be directly traced to this statutory fund?

3. If projects facilitated by others are what he parades as achievements, then what exactly is his own contribution?

“Until these questions are convincingly answered, any conversation about ideology is at best an insult to the intelligence of our people and, at worst, a calculated attempt to deceive them.

“As patriotic constituents who yearn for genuine progress, we urge the good people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency to begin the search for a credible and viable alternative ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Our constituency deserves a representative anchored on vision, competence, consistency, transparency, and a true ideology—not one driven by personal ambition, political inconsistency, and borrowed achievements.

“The time has come for us to rise above recycled excuses and embrace a leadership that will genuinely drive socio-economic transformation for our communities.

Signed,
Concerned Constituents of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.”
