The Olubadan-In-Council has on Monday formally endorsed the Otun Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the traditional council which was held at the sprawling Olubadan Palace at Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeem Abimbola announced the name of Oba Ladoja as the next Olubadan after the meeting.
He said governments will be notified of the development immediately.
Oba Abimbola said : “The council is confident that Ladoja will bring a wealth of experience and wisdom to the throne.
“His track record as a former governor and his deep connection with the community make him an ideal candidate to lead Ibadanland into a new era.”
Ajibola also emphasised the importance of unity and progress among the indigenes of Ibadanland spread across 11 local government areas of Oyo State.
“Under his leadership, we anticipate a period of reconciliation and development for our people.
“We believe that Oba Rashidi Ladoja will uphold the values and traditions of our ancestors while embracing modernity.”
