Abuja – Following Nigeria’s current security challenges, Christians have been advised to constantly watch and pray for their families at all times, so God can build a wall of protection around them.
Rev Smart Simon, Chaplain, Chapel of Resurrection, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Headquarters, gave the advice on Saturday in Abuja, during a worship revival.
Simon, who spoke during the worship session tagged: “The Fire brand Worship”, organised by Pastor Celine Oyewole, of the Divine Tabernacle of Praise Ministry.
The cleric, enjoined Christians to watch and pray, in the face of persecution in Nigeria.
“This is not the time to sit and do nothing, but a time to wake from our slumber in our places of worship.
“Adequate security measures should be taken taken to protect ourselves and loved ones,” he stated
Simon, who delved into the mystery of worship, said Christians could draw protection from God by using worship and praise to weather the storms of insecurity and many challenges that were bedeviling Nigeria.
The pastor said the children of Judah overcame their enemies by simply offering sincere worship and praises to God, adding that as they sang praises, God gave them victory over their enemies.
According to him, the benefits of worship and thanksgiving are enormous, saying that through these two powerful spiritual tools, blessings will be multiplied.
“Worship engenders access to divine presence, as well as help build a wall of fire around us,” he said.
Also speaking, Pastor Joe Bankole, of Christ the Precious Rock Church Abuja, admonished Christians to plead for the mercies of God upon their families, pray for their salvation, as well as their protection from the siege of evil.
Bankole said that Christians should also engage the blood of Jesus for the rescue of their family members from evil.
He asked Christians to pray for God to protect everyone at this time of insecurity such as kidnappings and killings.
“The Bible tells us to watch and pray; to be aware of the devices of the devil.
“We have just one enemy, the devil, Christians should sit up and not consider an adversary as a friend.
“We have to watch our backs, and not keep mute as what the bible says strike the shepherd, and the flocks shall flee, is very true,” Bankole said.
The cleric therefore, called on security agencies to brace up to the challenge and end the menace.
The National Coordinator of the ministry Pastor Oyewole, who marked her birthday during the programme, said the ministry was an Interdenominational Christian body.
“Ii is a body of Christ with a vision to worship God and draw all men closer to Him, as well as win souls for Christ.

According to Oyewole, who quoted the book of Ephesians 3:8, said “To me, who I am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.
“Our vision is to win souls and illuminate the world through God’s light, which is Jesus Christ, our model, by drawing the heart of all men unto God and heal the broken hearted through quality love.
“Also to build an empire of great worshipers unto God, for that is our core assignment when we return to Heaven.
“To this end, we have been able to go on several outreaches, which include prison evangelism at Kuje and Suleja.
“We also go on hospital outreach through a programme tagged touching lives, where we give by sharing what we have with others and helping them to grow both physically and spiritually.”
The Divine Tabernacle of Praise started online in 2015, with few men and women coming together to pray and preach the gospel of Christ. (NAN/vitalnewsngr.com)
