Imo Decides : LP Chieftain Arrested With INEC Materials, N183mln Cash In Imo

Joint security operatives have arrested one Hon. Okafor Gabriel for being in possession of election materials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

Okafor Gabriel, was caught with INEC Permanent Voter Cards, ballot papers as well as N183million naira in different naira denominations.

He was arrested around Anara in Isiala Mbano Local Government of Imo State.

The suspect admitted that the materials and money were given to him on Friday night by a party member.

The commander of the joint force, Insp. Ahmed Idris, said that Okafor’s arrest was made following some intelligent tip-off.

He stated that the arrest would serve as a stern warning that the security operatives meant business and would not hesitate to bring any culprit to book.
