The Ogori Students Association (OSA) has conferred its highest honour of “Distinguished Public Service Award” on Hon. Bode Ogunmola, member representing Ogori -Magongo Local Government in the Kogi State House of Assembly.

Hon. Ogunmola, who is currently the Minority Whip in the state assembly was conferred with the award during the 2025 OSA Award Night And Talent Hunt event held at the at the Civic Centre, Ogori.

Ogunmola was honoured and celebrated at the event for his quality representation and outstanding performances since being elected into the state assembly in 2023.

Chiefly among his achievements are regular financial assistances to students from his constituency.

He was also recognized for donating and installing boreholes in various locations in Ogori and Magongo communities, including mosques.

Hon. Ogunmola has also within his tenure constructed a modern canopy at the Civic Centers in Ogori and Magongo communities.

Aside these, he has been consistent in extending regular support to the aged, widows , market women and other vulnerable persons in his constituency.

Speaking at the event, the
National President of OSA, Comrade Oluwatoyosi Amurawaye said Hon. Ogunmola and some prominent indigenes of Ogori were selected for the honour for their immense contributions to the socio-economic development of Ogori over the years.

Amurawaye said OSA will continue to give honour to those who openly associate themselves to developmental aspiration of Ogori Community which je described as “God’s Own Land”.

He mentioned other awardees to include the National President of Ogori Descendant Union, Revd. Dr. Gabriel Aiso; Prof. Iyela Ajayi, the Executive Secretary, National Secondary Education Board; Mr. Kehinde Anuwe O, the Chief Executive Officer of the FGN Power Company Limited and Hon. (Mrs) Charity Ijese, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Women Mobilisation.

Other awardees according to OSA President are, the Former Press Secretary to the Kogi state Governor, Hon (Mrs) Petra Akinti-Oyegbule, Mr. Ayokunle Jamgbadi, the former Vice President of the Ogori Descendant Union, an education administrator with the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, Dr. Reuben Ayeni and Capt. Timi Iyela, both promising young men of Ogoriland.

Awards were also conferred on are Mrs Eunice Kemisi Odaibo Tolufashe, the initiator and promoter of the HealthCare Essentials, Ogori Magongo, Chief (Mrs) Felicia Ochefije Agbaire, an Ogorian based in Abuja; and Andrew Chimere Okah

The 2025 0SA Award Night and Talent Hunt was part of the activities lined-up for the OSA HOMECOMING 2025 celebrations.

The aim of the annual event is to refocus the students on good virtues and the promotion of unity in Ogori land.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Hon. Ogunmola reassured the students of better representation in the coming years and encouraged them to be hardworking and more focused on their studies.
